When over-the-counter skin treatments aren't proving effective, learn more about minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatments, such as microneedling. Natural Aesthetics is pleased to offer microneedling (collagen induction therapy)! Microneedling uses many fine-gauge needles to safely and effectively create micro-injuries in the skin. The micro-injuries prompt the natural production of elastin and collagen, two nutrients that increase the health and appearance of your complexion. Allowing us to harness these purified growth factors, the results of microneedling often address scarring, hyperpigmentation, skin irregularities, and more. Easily combined with other skin treatments, such as serum facials or PRP (platelet-rich plasma), microneedling can also help minimize pores, scars, and stretch marks. Make an appointment for a consultation at Natural Aesthetics to learn more about the results of microneedling and ways to customize your procedure for your skin concerns and goals.

Microneedling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy or CIT) allows for a controlled process of the skin’s self-repair mechanism by creating micro “injuries” in the skin, which triggers new collagen production. Micro-needling is utilized to treat the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, minor trauma scars, hypo/hyperpigmentation, and improving the skin’s overall appearance. To enhance results, micro-needling may be combined with the use of PRP, topical gels, creams, and/or serums to further aid in the overall appearance of the skin
Microneedling treatment can take an hour-and-a-half, or more to complete. The exact time depends on the area that is being treated. This timeframe includes an additional 30 minutes for topical numbing to be applied prior to treatment. can help you achieve your desired results.
MicroNeedling procedures are performed in a safe and precise manner with the use of a sterile micropen needle head and handheld micropen skin needling system. The micropen is gently pressed into the skin, and glides across the its’ surface to induce new collagen and elastin.
While microneedling can sound rather daunting, the needles that we use during the procedure are microscopic. The treatment can cause discomfort and has been said to feel like a vibrating cats tongue. Areas with deeper imperfections may cause more discomfort than areas with superficial imperfections. We ensure that our patients are comfortable throughout the entire procedure. A topical numbing agent is applied 30 minutes prior to Microneedling to aid any discomfort during the procedure.
Generally, patients notice tightening, and a more even tone to their skin, a week or two after their first session. For areas with deeper imperfections, results can be subtler, and additional treatments are usually required. Since Microneedling stimulates new collagen and elastin production, these results will continue to build for up to 6 months.
It is important to realize that we cannot stop the aging process, we can only slow it down. With this in mind, results are not considered permanent, as natural degradation will occur over time. Improvements from microneedling can be seen for several years after treatment, and results can be prolonged with the correct at home skincare maintenance.
